Dear Jalani,
I got here kind of late, but I’m here. The hotel that they got us is amazing. It’s a live in, with a kitchen and fridge. The bathroom is huge, and this part of town is nice. It’s calm, quiet, and a little out the way, but not too much.
My roommate is a vegetarian. It’s kind of nice, because I’ve started to try out some new stuff too. I’ve found a nice vegan soy burger that they sell here. Grocery shopping is one of my favorite things to do. I like seeing the different products that they sell in France, and honestly, the food is so fresh and healthy here. There’s this cute out the way store right by the hotel and they sell the best vegan laundry detergent I’ve ever smelled in my life. If I could express, it smells like the lavender of Provence and the Garden of Eden.
School is around the corner from here but honestly, I’m exhausted from arriving here late. They have a strict policy about attendance though, so I’ll be there.
I wish you guys would come to visit. It really is beautiful here. The streets are small and quaint. The shops are cute. I won’t lie; I had Chinese food the other day. It was healthy and nasty, but it was cute too. I don’t know how French people drive on these tiny roads, but they manage without getting into accidents.
The change is welcome. It’s a sudden change, and I don’t know where I’m going to live yet, but I’m excited to find out.
